About My Clients
I work with teens and adults of various genders, relationship styles, ethnicities, and religious/spiritual backgrounds. I specialize in navigating complex trauma, grief, anxiety, relational conflict, sexual identity, and gender identity. My approach is trauma-informed and consent-based. Likewise, I offer free consultations and letters for gender-affirming care.
My Background and Approach
I spent two and a half years providing care in community integration, working with young adults living with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and personality disorders. I also worked as a therapist in an eating disorder clinic, providing care for adolescents & young adults struggling with restriction, bingeing, purging, and avoidant eating patterns. Likewise, I have experience running LGBTQ+ support and process groups, and have worked with queer folks in private practice for over 2 years. When working with people, I use a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based Gestalt approach. We check in with and learn from feelings, sensations, behaviors and images that arise in the person's body as we process through thoughts, memories, and interpersonal interactions. Furthermore, I firmly believe that how we feel and act is deeply affected by the systems we live in; so I encourage discussion around the social, cultural, racial, and political pressures you face.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy, at its core, should be a collaborative effort. You and I are two humans with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and beliefs; working together to establish a direction for therapy aligning with YOUR goals and evolving needs. With this in mind, it is my goal to meet you where you are while maintaining my own authenticity and integrity. I am an active member of the LGBTQ+ community, Pro-Palestine, and am actively working to decolonize my therapy practice.
