About My Clients
I have always felt my purpose in life was to help others. My ideal clients are actively seeking change in their lives to improve their well-being. Their goals should involve personal growth, setting/changing boundaries to improve their interpersonal relationships, understanding and learning skills to cope with family dynamics, and practicing skills to reduce the intensity or prevalence of symptoms resulting from mental distress.
My Background and Approach
I love helping and serving others, which is probably related to watching my half-brother aid our community throughout my childhood. He has worked as a paramedic, fire safety inspector, and helped clean up the aftermath of 9/11. Since childhood, but especially going into my undergraduate career, I knew I wanted to end up in a helping profession. Being a therapist has become one of the most fulfilling things in my life. I am personable and passionate about my work. Working with me you will be given many resources to alleviate mental distress. Some may be through reading works that help with enlightenment, others will be mental skills, such as mindfulness techniques, and others will be tangible ways to interrupt intuitive thoughts.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Social causes I support are body positivity, bodily autonomy (women's rights), and improving conditions for lower income households and laws that protect the homeless population. I work with clients who want to find change. I have a heart for making an impact and helping others from start to finish, making me empathetic and patient with my clients. I am passionate about supporting clients struggling with mental health challenges offering both emotional support and skills to battle intrusive thoughts.
