Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Trauma, and Oppression run rampant through out society. Sometimes these things make it so that we can not be as present as we would like to be in our relationships, work, and our lives. These feelings can make it really hard to feel present. I can support you with tools and techniques so that you can be your fully expressed self in all areas of your life.
My Background and Approach
I am a Black Latinx Carribean holistic therapist who is committed to my clients living a life that they love. My therapy practice integrates mindfulness, social justice, CBT, somatics, and EMDR. My specialties are anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions and ADHD. I am a over 40 year old therapist, who grew up iin a Puertorican working class household in Philadelphia( Lenapehoking). I was drawn to social justice as a teenager. I am queer, married, and lived in NYC for over 12 years. I have worked in harm reduction,education, and administration. I currently am an adjunct professor in a graduate program. I am trained in EMDR, Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, 5NP Acupuncture and Mindfulness. I am also currently completing a Certified Yoga Training .I bring a holistic approach to my therapy practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am personally passionate about food justice, gardening, afrodiasporic music and human rights. I affirm and support individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, immigration status, bipoc experiences, religions, spiritualities, and political identities. Understanding the intersectionality of identity with mental health concerns is central to my practice. I strive to create a nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your feelings, experiences, and goals freely.
