About My Clients
If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and need a safe supportive space I'd love to work with you. I am passionate about helping clients build self-esteem and coping for things like stress or depression as well. Together, we can find creative ways to help you build self-esteem, coping, boundaries, and communication.
My Background and Approach
I've been providing therapy for 10 years and work from a trauma-informed perspective. I've worked at addiction treatment facilities, LGBTQ groups for teens, and sexual trauma non-profit centers as well as community mental health centers. I've received training in play therapy, trauma-focused CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, and play therapy. I use an integrative approach combining feminist theory, CBT, Adlerian, and person-centered perspectives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in social justice and equity for marginalized communities. Societal, cultural, and systemic influences all shape our experiences and I keep these in perspective (as well as bring them to light) in my therapy approach. Therapy with me is a safe space to talk about power dynamics, gender, identity, and oppression. I'm passionate about empowering clients with my understanding of these factors as well as my own background and experience with vulnerable populations.
