About My Clients
I enjoy partnering with clients on relationship issues, anxiety, and general life stressors. I also identify as queer and enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community with adults 16+ years old. As a therapist, I continue to engage in anti-racist and decolonization work that actively influence my practice.
My Background and Approach
Over the past decade I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, wilderness therapy, and public schools. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Constructed Awareness, while also draw from Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. I have extensive experience working with people experiencing overwhelm (in all forms), addiction (substance, food, tech, gambling etc), and issues with relationship, transition, identity, & low esteem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We each bring expertise into therapy - I bring the clinical expertise, and you bring the expertise in you. Therapy involves collaboratively using both sets of knowledge to explore your goals, wants, and desires. I believe that we are not inherently broken but live in a shame-based society that teaches us that parts of us are bad, wrong, or unloveable. In therapy, we focus on learning to bring back these parts we have exiled and to see ourselves as whole. We can build a validating environment without judgement to create a space that invites self-exploration and openness. We will work together to facilitate therapeutic acceptance, balance, and change in whatever form you are looking for.
