About My Clients
My ideal client is anyone who is at a crossroads in life, whether positive or negative, and is motivated to seek support in developing the skills they need to be successful in managing the transition. Whatever the change may be, each client has unique experiences and situations that support and impede their progress, and my goal is to help them create a plan of action which meets their individual needs.
My Background and Approach
I’m a goal-oriented therapist with an exceptional ability to take the most complex and seemingly overwhelming goals and turn them into a step-by-step process that we can use to achieve your goals. If you came to me with a problem or goal, it means you’re serious about addressing it, and I will take my existing skillset and research skills to provide the guidance you need to find success in your endeavors. I’m grateful when people share their journey with me and allow me to provide objective and judgment-free guidance, because it’s exciting to witness what people are capable of when they choose a different way of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think an integral part of the healing process is to reframe the negative perceptions of a client’s past, so they don’t convince themselves they are incapable or undeserving of the changes they want to see in their lives. One of the ways I have done this was through a workshop conducted with people recovering from substance use disorders, where we explore the professional and administrative skills that were used daily to maintain active substance use, and how those skills transfer to professional settings. Simply asking people to describe their experience from a different perspective allowed people to realize the exceptional communication, problem-solving, entrepreneurial, and financial skills they developed over the years.
