I have worked with families in improving communication and unhelpful patterns among all members to create a healthy and functional family dynamic.

Whether it is related to work, relationships, self accomplishment, or seemingly unknown reasons, living with depression can seem inescapable. I have worked with clients in establishing the source of the depressive symptoms and learning coping mechanisms to help alleviate them in order to live a more emotionally comfortable lifestyle.

Similar to clients experiencing depression, anxiety can seem overwhelming and paralyzing. Clients experiencing anxious symptoms have been able to work through them during our sessions by working on taking control of anxious thoughts, implementing coping mechanisms and empowering themselves.

I implement Person-Centered Therapy in my practice as I like the client to feel empowered and that they have control over how each session goes. As a counselor, I am there to provide guidance and prompting questions to help them explore deeper, find root emotions and identify triggers.

CBT is usually used in all of my sessions in some way. Because the main principle of CBT is that all thoughts trigger a certain emotion and subsequently, an action, I work in my sessions to identify intrusive or maladaptive thoughts in order to shift them to a more positive path, which results in modifying unwanted emotions and behaviors.
