About My Clients
The clients that I work with best are those who are willing to put in the work outside of the sessions as well as during them. We can talk for an hour each week about what you might need to change, how you can change it, and how these things bother you, but you have to be motivated to change! My clients also dont expect me to be a miracle worker or to be the solver of their problems, rather someone who can approach things from a different perspective and help THEM discover the best solutions.
My Background and Approach
I have a master's degree in clinical psychology and graduate in 2023. My approach is integrative, drawing from a variety of therapeutic methodologies to tailor our work to your unique needs and goals. I enjoy working with young adults who may be dealing with peer relationships, romantic relationships, school and work stresses, navigating setting boundaries with friends and family, and creating healthy habits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I grew up in the south as a southern baptist christian, but learned very early on that this religion and it's values did not fit with who I was. Once I got older, I began to explore my sexuality and, as a gay man, further knew that religion wasnt something that meshed well with me. I find that I have clients that enjoy the perspective of someone who has experienced and left the realm of religion due to personal differences, especially if the client is or has going through something similar. I am democratic in my views, wanting the best for all populations and equal opportunities for all. I am an advocate for women's rights and reproductive health for all populations.
