About My Clients
Children can better express their thoughts and feelings in their natural language – PLAY, using toys as their words. Often, “bad behavior” is just a child’s way of telling us they have an unmet need or don't have enough coping skills. My goal is to interpret the child's play to parents and give them better tools and skills to help their children and family.
My Background and Approach
I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling with a focus in Play Therapy from the University of North Texas, a world leader in Play Therapy. My Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from Texas A&M University. Supervised by Christia Rogers, M.S., LPC-S #66609.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm passionate about helping children, teens and adults be the best versions of themselves. I believe that all people have an innate tendency toward growth. However, growth can be impacted by life events we may not have control over. This may lead to untrue and/or unhealthy thought patterns. Together we’ll target these unhelpful thoughts and beliefs, and replace them with more accurate versions. Since our thoughts, behaviors and emotions are all connected, impacting one area will impact them all. However, for children, it is hard for them to translate their thoughts and feelings verbally.
