About My Clients
My clients come to me because they are sad, anxious or overwhelmed. They may be single, married, parents, career persons or students. They are tired of fighting their challenges alone and struggle daily with emotions and relationships. My most common clients are diagnosed with PTSD and dissociative disorders, or with anxiety disorders. Many have ADHD and benefit from my experience helping people with executive functioning. Some are parents who have highly sensitive children.
My Background and Approach
I am able to work with clients at the body or the mind level. Some clients feel safer just talking about their problems: helping them notice the thoughts that are impacting their life works well to help them feel better. This is my CBT approach. However for many people, just talking is not enough, and my more body and emotion focused movement approaches work better for them. Whether we use CBT based verbal approaches, or notice body sensations and use movement, I will always teach you coping skills to help with emotion regulation. When it helps, I also use DBT approaches- this is especially helpful for challenges with setting boundaries, and getting alone b better with others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we can all benefit from therapy. In fact I do not know why the skills I use are not taught in schools.
