About My Clients
My clients are interested in exploring how the different dimensions of their makeup influence their experiences, be it their identities, positions in culture, nuero-biology, health, beliefs, values, and histories. They want change in their lives, want to increase their range of motion, and want to improve their relationships. They might have CPTSD and/or ADHD/Austim, anxiety, depression, challenges in relationships and performance, stress, and/or are changing their relationship to substances.
My Background and Approach
I view therapy as a space to be curious, an opportunity to integrate life experiences and deepen understandings, and an orientation process, making change more possible. My perspective is trauma-informed and culturally-humble, and my approach is rooted in Mindfulness, Polyvegal, and Cultural/Relational frameworks, also making use of IFS and CBT skills. I believe we tend to our nervous systems in relationship, and aim to be a safe and regulated support. I believe everything we do is an attempt to meet a need, and aim to be deeply curious about this when we look at choices in your life. I also believe that you are the expert of your life and aim to position myself as knowledgeable support while you hone skills, further befriend yourself, and tend to your emotions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my personal life I practice equanimity, renunciation, compersion, truthfulness, inclusion, doing less harm, decommodification and generosity. I am a supporter of queer, fat, and Black and Indigenous liberation, of harm reduction, and of non-monogamous relationships. I have joined a number of movements and experiments challenging the status quo, and I am a voter that has never voted for a Republican.
