Kristen is passionate about helping others improve their mental health using a holistic approach, and currently sees patients via telehealth. When not at Heading Health, she enjoys traveling with my husband and experiencing new places and cultures. In her free time she loves spending time with family, taking road trips, riding bikes, and traveling the world.
We all have an inner critical voice that can overwhelm our experiences and sabotage our relationship with ourselves and others. My clients learn to identify and relate differently to this inner voice, creating a shift in how they treat themselves. They are then able to engage in a process of investigating different parts of themselves and lead their lives with more inner freedom, self compassion, and open heartedness.
There are few things I believe stunt the excitement and vastness of the human experience more than toxic shame, lack of self-compassion and an unrelenting life of anxious worry. Maybe you are at the beginning of your therapy journey, slowly awakening to ways in which your current way of thinking and being is no longer serving you, or possibly our time together will be a continuation of the work you have already started. Either way, I am honored to be a part of your healing journey.
My clients are often highly/over-functioning and have learned to put up walls or numb in order to cope. They may have past relational wounds or experiences that show up when trying to manage current stressors. Even though they may be experiencing high levels of anxiety or depression they may not recognize it within themselves because it may not look like what we consider as "typical" for these issues. They may also be struggling with self-confidence or perfectionism as well.

Individuals I work with typically want relief from: 1) Overwhelming feelings of insecurity, shame, or anger 2) Anxiety, over-analyzing, or irritability 3) Life stress related to being a high-achieving working professional or student 4) Relationship, marital, or family difficulties 5) Difficulties processing grief, loss, existential concerns, or traumatic memories 6) Women’s wellness, particularly related to peri- and post-partum mental health 7) Chronic illness, pain, or sleep disturbances.
I help people who are struggling to develop a strong sense of self worth. I often work with people exploring identity and self esteem Who are experiencing symptoms like high anxiety, depression, difficulty coping with stress, and intrusive negative thoughts. Some therapists focus only on the symptoms which can feel incomplete. I listen deeply to hear what’s going on underneath. I help you process the old stories and beliefs held deep within that are cutting you off from your true self.
My clients struggle as you do. Despite being smart, determined and kind, life is hard. When they first come in, they experience thoughts and emotions as too intense. They have trouble relaxing and feel like anxiety has taken over their life. Before therapy, they put a lot of pressure on themselves and felt guilt and shame for struggling. ‘Other people seem to have it all together, why can’t they?’ Like my clients, you deserve to find peace and fulfillment in life. I'd love to help you get there.

My work experience has allowed me to serve a spectrum of different populations including but not limit to children and adolescent, high conflict court cases, individuals with disabilities, individuals experiencing substance abuse, individuals experiencing homelessness, college students, working parents, immigrants, non-binary individuals, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
You are not a walking problem, and there is more to life than coping. I imagine that (rightfully so) you're in this search because you're looking for a way out of your suffering. Great! I'd like to suggest that you can find even more: a greater connection to yourself, and a life truly worth living. I tend to work with people who haven't gotten what they need from therapy by changing their mindset. When trauma gets stuck in the body, the only way "out" is through a deeper connection with self.
Are you or your partner experiencing growing pains? I work with individuals and couples experiencing life transitions and relational conflict on their journeys toward wholeness. My clients are often folks navigating life at the intersections of race, religion, and sexuality. Growth begins with asking for help! You are well on your way.
