I utilize research and techniques from experts to address specific challenges in developmentally appropriate ways and encourage collaboration with caregivers to help sustain changes and improve relationships.
Regardless of the presenting issue, my goal for each client is to increase their self-awareness and improve their self-regard. I am always on the look-out for opportunities to remind my clients of their inherent worth.
I view each individual as products of the systems in which they are apart of. The most formative system being the family system.
Narrative therapy examines the stories we tell ourselves and others about our lived experiences. It helps clients identify their values and capabilities to confront current issues. By exploring a client's values, the therapist can help the client re-author a new narrative to reduce stress associated with how we perceive our past experiences.
Collaborative Therapy focuses on the language used to discuss problems. By parsing through language and expressing curiosity, a deeper understanding is achieved and couples and individuals have an opportunity to feel genuinely heard by their partner and/or their therapist.
