About My Clients

Are you someone looking for assistance to cope with the abundant difficulties inherent in life? Perhaps you want to address complications related to anxiety, depression, or trauma. Maybe you need someone to talk to during a transitionary period in life, such as going to college or grieving the loss of a loved one. Perhaps you are exploring what values are important to you and are contemplating what career path you would like to take.

My Background and Approach

I work from a humanistic framework, utilizing person-centered and existential perspectives. I believe in the importance of exploring how a person can find meaning and increase well-being in their lives. I am additionally partially trained in EMDR to assist clients who encounter difficulties stemming from traumatic experiences. My previous clinical experience includes outpatient alcohol and drug abuse treatment, residential and community behavioral health, group psychotherapy, and individual counseling for issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, interpersonal conflict, and emotional dysregulation. If you have experienced sexual violence in the state of Pennsylvania, ask me about ways to assist with covering costs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe the effectiveness of therapy comes from the relationship developed between the therapist and the client. Rather than conceptualizing myself as an expert having all the answers, my goal is to join you where you are at, where you direct the focus of the the session based on your needs. Through the use of empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, I hope to enable positive change in your life by providing a safe and caring atmosphere where you are able to become more aligned with your personal values and life aspirations. Outside of therapy, you might find me playing music, buying records, or skateboarding.
