About My Clients

Men who want to examine their life, beliefs, behavior patterns, and relationships in order to work towards living a life where their choices and values are aligned. Potential clients of mine may recognize that something is missing in their life, or they are feeling stuck. You may feel as if you know where you want to be but don't know how to get out of your own way. You might feel as if the stresses of everyday life, job, relationships are just too much to bear.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor with experience and passion for providing specialized and effective men's counseling. I have worked in wilderness therapy for teens, a sober living program for men, and the VA hospital for men with substance abuse issues. After hours of research during my training as a mental health therapist, I became aware of the lack of specialized emotional support for men and fathers. I have built my life and practice around meeting this desperate need for quality mental health support and therapy for dads. I also specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, and general life stressors. Using a foundation of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities like CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and so much more. I think what makes my approach so unique is that it isn't just sitting in an office talking. Sessions with me are outside in nature with a focus on concrete skills

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Throughout my life and career, I have always known that I was put on this earth with the purpose of being a father. As I have studied and learned through my education, training, and clinical experience, there is severe lack of specialized mental health support and resources for men and fathers. While this has improved some in recent years, generations of societal stigma and conditioning has taught our young boys and men that they are not allowed to have or talk about their feelings. This leads many boys and men believing that asking for help or seeing a therapist is a form of weakness. With this practice and my clinical focus of working with men, boys, and dads, I hope to work towards changing this issue and showing men that it's OK to seek help and that they deserve to live a life of health, wellness, and one they can be proud of.
