About My Clients
Do you feel unseen at work, by your family, or by your partner, despite your efforts and sacrifice? Do you hide a part of yourself for fear of rejection? My clients are on a journey of being their caring selves while existing fully with their values, wants and needs. It can feel strange, embarrassing, and anxiety-driven to embrace who you truly are in front of others. I combine play therapy for adults, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to guide you to your authentic self.
My Background and Approach
My therapies are informed by my perspectives being mixed with Black, Vietnamese and Cherokee and as someone who grew up poor in L.A. I know what its like to overcompensate in other areas of my life just to gain acceptance. My goal as a therapist is to help you stop people-pleasing, set boundaries, and create a healthy sense of self-worth. I also have a background with polyamory, ENM and kink; amateur in music (blues, jazz); competitive video-gaming. I work well with clients that are curious and goal-driven and want to improve their self-worth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
For my BIPOC clients, I come from an approach that helps clients understand what internalize racism is, how its integrated with trauma, and how they can redefine what success is in a way that is anti-racist and positive for their mental health. In general, I believe in helping others build assertive but clear communication with family and intimate relationships. I believe in helping you explore and recreate your values so that you can feel proud of yourself for how you show up in relationships.
