About My Clients
My practice (High Score Therapeutic Services LLC) aims to service Elementary age up through Young Adulthood. Clients can have no diagnosis or a Neurodevelopmental diagnosis (ADHD, ASD, Anxiety etc.) I deal in topics like bullying, parent/child quality time, social groups, and help families gain access to resources. I also offer Parent Strategy sessions to assist with building routines, assist with screen time issues and offer pop-culture/trend information.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from the Florida State University with a Bachelors & Masters in Social work. I went on to obtain another Masters in Developmental Disabilities. With my education I was able to create a decorated career path with agencies such as: Department of Children & Families, Children's Home Society - Parent Education & Adoptions, UFHealth Pediatric Pulmonary Center, UFHealth North Central Early Steps (NICU), & UFHealth Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment. Therapy provides guidance to navigate feelings, relationships, & the world around us. Current therapeutic options come in the form of sterile, clinical environments that lack comfort & relatability. Imagine a place where you can enjoy therapy. That is what I create for my patients. I strongly believe when we relate to clients in a way they enjoy, we can reach more honest levels of trust. I use pop-culture, video games, & current trends to create a comfortable atmosphere where clients can thrive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that if we can help someone in any way, we should. Mental health is complex and a lifelong game of tug of war. There are good & bad days. The goal is to maximize good days, and learn how to cope with the bad days. We can't erase it, we have to learn to work with it. I was a child of divorce at the difficult age of 13. We moved from the bible belt, to the Florida melting pot. We realized that I was struggling with a lot of worry and fear. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It took many years to get to a place where I felt like I wasn't battling my anxiety, but learning how to live with it. The right kind of therapy with the right person, can make a world of difference. I want to help others as I have been helped. If overtime I feel I am not enough or not the right person, I will assist in transitioning the client to someone who is better suited. Treating my clients as I would want myself or my child to be treated is paramount to my practice.
