About My Clients
Despite the challenges, road bumps, setbacks, and curveballs life has thrown, one thing my clients all have in common is that they haven't given up on themselves, or the idea of a better future. That's where we will beging. Whether it's the uncertainty of opening a relationship, coping with the after-effects of trauma, or figuring out your next steps life, I'm here to help you along in this next phase of healing and growth.
My Approach to Helping
Hey, I'm Meg. I'm a polyamory therapist, therapist for therapists, and EMDR practitioner. I see and deeply understand the day-to-day struggle, and have made it my professional commitment to support others—and out of—work-induced burnout, poly relationship struggles, and the effects of trauma and stressful life situations. The longer I work in this field, the more I come to know and believe that healing isn't about erasing our pain or avoiding the things that make us uncomfortable—it's about learning to change our relationship to our pain, and finding new ways to interact with the world we find ourselves in. Whether it's softening the impact of anxiety and overwhelm, moving forward from trauma, or learning how to love and be loved more deeply, I believe we're all just trying to do our best with what we've got—and that the right help, at just the right time, can make all the difference.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think therapy gives us a really unique opportunity to simultaneously experience genuine acceptance from another human being while allowing ourselves to *really see* see ourselves through a set of fresh eyes—someone else's eyes. My approach to therapy is to offer a compassionate yet honest reflection of what I see in you—both your struggles and your strengths, your fears and your dreams. A fan of compassionate and clear communication, I don't like to mince words—and while I value kindness in all things, I also place a lot of value on the investment you're making in yourself by working with me. To that end, I will provide a gentle push every now and then to move beyond the spaces, places, thoughts, and beliefs that leave you feeling trapped and helpless, toward a new version of yourself that is calm, connected, clear-minded, and consistent. I can't say therapy is always easy—but I can say that it is well worth it, and that I'm here to help you make the most of your time.
