About My Clients

I work with clients to help them understand and heal from the legacy of trauma. My clients come to me having experienced a wide array of symptoms that can range from difficulties with the ability to trust others to feelings of anxiety or hyper-vigilance to feelings of hopelessness. Many of my clients may be experiencing difficulties with attention, bouts of depression or irritability, as well as struggling with feelings of shame and unworthiness, and perhaps a loss of interest in life.

My Background and Approach

As a trauma therapist, I have spent years studying the impact trauma has on our nervous systems. My studies in trauma-oriented psychotherapeutic approaches including DBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Gestalt Psychotherapy have provided me with multiple tools and techniques that I use in my work every day with clients. Working through and healing from deep traumatic wounds requires a therapeutic relationship that encompasses space, time and a sense of trust. As a clinician, I am a perceptive listener who provides a warm, safe atmosphere where clients can express their inner life at their own pace. Together we will help you to to strengthen your sense of perspective and self-understanding, and cultivate an appreciation for your strengths and ability to survive and carry-on under the hardest of circumstances. Based on my experience working with many clients, it is from this place of inner wisdom that healing takes place, and new possibilities for change begin to emerge.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In my practice, I help individuals move through some of the most difficult moments in their lives, the strong emotional tides and automatic responses that are often inherent to any unexpected life change, or past traumatic experiences. Our everyday responses to stress - anxiety, anger, irritability, bouts of depression, or fatigue and the effectiveness of our ability to cope with current stressors are often related to painful past experiences, some recent and some from long ago. My practice is dedicated to offering individuals the supports necessary to navigate through pain from our past to a place of resiliency.
