I am the co-author of the book "The Mentally Ill Drug Abuser: Whose Client?" Most of the alcohol and drug dependent clients I work with suffer from co-existing mental health disorders. I provide assessment and psychotherapy services and also make great use of other therapeutic resources including addiction and psychiatric medications, 12 step and other support groups, family support and healthy life style.

Our emotions are constantly running through our being. Part of learning to label, accept and manage them is to use the tools of our intellect. CBT allows clients to identify and better understand how their thinking, reflecting, and understanding of their thoughts can improve their skills in both emotional intelligence and cognitive intelligence.
