Depression can look different for many people and when I meet with a client dealing with depression, I make sure to ask them several questions pertaining to their daily routine. The first thing is identifying what is being impacted in their life that has made them seek treatment because a lot of times it takes a lack of productivity or someone pointing out patterns of behavior to recognize that you might actually be dealing with depression.
I use necessary tools in assisting clients dealing with anxiety especially when it comes to their work and school life. It has been imperative in developing structure in order to see changes in managing anxiety. Also, anxiousness can derive from how were conditioned to think and believe about certain things, and when that is disrupted we began to question ourselves.
I have worked with adoption agencies in hospital settings as new mothers signed off their rights as parents to working with adolescents who transitioned from foster care to adoptive homes. I also have had clients of adult age learning to cope with what it has meant for them to be adopted.
