About My Clients
Have you been called "too sensitive" because you think and feel deeply? Perhaps you get easily overwhelmed or anxious because you notice little details that others can tune out or it takes you longer to make decisions. If so, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) - a trait found in about 20% of the population. Being Highly Sensitive can often seem like a burden but there are many strengths (perception, empathy, creativity) that you can access when you live a supportive lifestyle.
My Background and Approach
My main priority is for you to feel safe, supported, heard, and seen during our work together. Through the use of dialogue, self-reflection, and experiential exercises such as mindfulness, journaling, art, or visualization exercises, I will take your lead as to what's important to dive into. I'll also occasionally guide you to deepen your reflection around important topics such as childhood experiences, relationships, work struggles, or life transitions. We'll then look at self-care and lifestyle practices that may be contributing to overwhelm or anxiety, as well as explore tools/practices to soothe your nervous system so you feel more in control.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a therapist because of my own transformative experiences with therapy as a client over the past 15 years. Therapy has not only helped (and continues to help) heal my wounds and insecurities but also to accept myself on a deep level. Understanding my needs and my temperament has allowed me to create a lifestyle that’s aligned with my quirky, emotional, Highly Sensitive, Introverted nature. I’m less concerned with what I should be doing and more focused on what I need (and want!). I want to offer that same safe and nurturing space to you. Being a therapist is an incredible experience that I am so grateful for. Every day I have the privilege to connect with people, hear their vulnerable stories, and support them on their journey to self-discovery and healing.
