About My Clients
My clients come to me with their most difficult problems that they are unable to resolve on their own. Sometimes they have had other therapies like CBT which have not been helpful, and they are looking for a deeper understanding and change. I warmly welcome individuals of all identities, genders, and backgrounds without prejudice. My practice is committed to embracing all forms of otherness and all modes of existing.
My Background and Approach
I have advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy as well as specialized training in psychotherapy with LGBTQ individuals from CHA/Harvard Medical School. I have lectured, published, and trained therapists in conducting psychotherapy with transgender and gender-diverse clients. My approach adheres to a case-by-case perspective in which each person is unique and necessitates a distinct treatment trajectory. A common characteristic of most therapy sessions is that the client speaks freely about anything that comes to mind, and we delve deeply into the issues that arise. This exploration is supported by the client's free-association and guided by the therapist's interventions and interpretations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief is that our problems point to something more than mere dysfunction and disorder, they point to something that is profoundly unique in all of us. This makes therapy less a naming of a pathology and more a discovery of what can work for us to make life interesting and exciting. My practice is strongly based in the belief that there are no inherently wrong and abnormal ways of living and being.
