About My Clients
My clients are generally at a moment in their lives when understanding who they are has become critical. They benefit from the therapeutic alliance that forms in the consultation room, and can utilize talk therapy as well as integrative approaches in order to identify both barriers to change, as well as what could be just beyond those boundaries
My Background and Approach
My areas of clinical focus include gender and sexual orientation diversity, anxiety and depression, minority stress and family conflict. I have expertise in working with families to increase effectiveness in communication patterns and overall functioning. My theoretical and clinical work is is informed by relational-psychodynamic principles, trans-feminist studies, and narrative therapy. I have a specialty in working with gender diverse youth (under 18) and their families. Clinical work in this area can include assessment and diagnosis of gender dysphoria, family therapy and support, and partnerships with other providers as necessary.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the most effective therapy incorporates these essential elements: listening and affirming, holding space for the client's thoughts and feelings, and partnering with clients to meet their goals.
