The approach I take is designed to meet you where you are, today. I incorporate a strengths-based approach with the principles of harm reduction. Compassion, pragmatism and collaboration are the cornerstones of my approach. I have many years of clinical experience in supporting individuals with alcohol and drug concerns, as well as other mental health issues. For any treatment to have the best possible change of being effective, addressing all of your concerns holistically is crucial. Where we start will be determined collaboratively, while continually having honest conversations about potential harm associated with continued use.
Caring about someone struggling with substance use can be overwhelming. Due to continued stigma surrounding substance abuse and addiction, it can also feel isolating. Knowing how to help, while still feeling supported and honoring your own boundaries can be difficult to manage. I have experience in helping loved ones navigate this process.
