About My Clients
You are searching for how to build a better, more satisfying life. You recognize barriers but maybe need help finding your way around them. Depression, anxiety, panic, fear, trauma and physical disabilities might get in your way and guidance can help. You may have a concept of your own potential that needs to be adjusted. And, maybe you struggle with the way you feel accepted in the world and supportive counseling would be healing for you.
My Background and Approach
The counseling I provide comes from a background in Rehabilitation Counseling-which is focused on helping clients reach their personal goals even when faced with disabling conditions such as mental and physical health challenges. I work with clients to discover their goals and motivations and to accomplish their career, relationship and independent living goals through a counseling process. I use a holistic, person-centered approach with a special focus when there are disabling conditions that cause barriers to a client's personal progress and goals. I address mental health, cognitive conditions including brain injury, autism, physical conditions, personal development, educational and occupational development. I have a BA in Fine Art and a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. I have been a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 10 years, Vocational Rehabilitation Technician for 6 years, Therapeutic Foster Parent for 16 years and over 20 years as an entrepreneur.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is capable of achieving a better life and that everyone deserves one. I am a member of the LGBT + community and I am in a long term polyamorous relationship. I understand and value all variations of healthy human relationships and can offer support for them.
