About My Clients
I work with first- and second-generation immigrants who struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and guilt from feeling torn between mainstream culture and family values. Many feel a deep responsibility to make their parents happy and, when falling short, become trapped in cycles of negative self-talk and despair. Bridging two worlds often brings the weight of unspoken family expectations, leaving individuals questioning if they will ever be good enough.
My Background and Approach
My super power is to help you break from heavy expectations, ease the anxiety of being torn between two worlds and reconnect with who you truly are. My journey from engineering to therapy as a bicultural immigrant, parent spouse in a biracial marriage taught me firsthand the challenges of bridging cultures. EMDR is my main approach. It is an evidence-based tool that I use to help clients process past trauma and release emotional burdens, especially those tied to family expectations or cultural transitions. By integrating both empathy and specialized techniques, I support clients in breaking cycles of self-doubt, building self-compassion, and defining their unique identities. I create a safe space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to navigate life authentically, balancing personal goals with cultural values. In addition to EMDR, I incorporate CBT and DBT techniques to help clients regulate their emotions and feel more in control of their daily lives

There is nothing wrong with you; the defense mechanisms you’ve developed were essential for surviving difficult times in your life.
