About My Clients
My practice is focused on helping unique individuals understand and accept themselves and engage in healthy relationships while still maintaining individuality. I work with those who don’t always feel like they fit in a box or align with society’s expectations regarding their relationships, career, and personal pursuits. My areas of specialty include: anxiety, religious trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem, chronic illness, and issues specific to creatives and highly sensitive people.
My Background and Approach
I provide a supportive space for clients to be heard and understood, as well as tools to identify and change unhelpful patterns and increase positive coping skills. We'll work together to better understand your unique relationship history, needs, and interactions, and then use strategies to improve communication, intimacy, and boundaries. We will practice mindfulness activities to allow increased connection between your mind & body and reduce physical symptoms of anxiety & depression. Sometimes you may just want a safe space to unpack all that's happened in your day, or what's heavy on your mind at the moment, and I will provide that space for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a piece by artist Jenny Holzer reads, all things are delicately interconnected. We can heal our relationships with ourselves and others, and we all have the internal resources to begin this healing, to grow and to change. I'm trauma-informed and consider the impact of class, race, gender identity, sexuality, and other societal factors in our work together. I am involved in creative pursuits and community-building, as well as my own therapy, and believe that all of these things are vital to my existence. Quality and informed care is crucial and if you are requesting support around an issue outside of my scope of practice I will provide referrals to therapists with the appropriate training.
