About My Clients
Having to suppress the challenges presented by sensory processing differences, can present as anxiety and depression when not properly addressed. Complex post traumatic stress is also an unseen source of pain underlying one’s daily function. Many conditions, left untreated since childhood have physiological factors requiring accurate evaluation and treatment by a therapist licensed to establish a plan of care for all aspects: physical, psychological, occupational. My Background and Approach
Throughout my career the training I have completed has allowed me to accurately assess physical, psychological, and occupational aspects of my clients experiences, and to provide education and training that supports clients and caregivers to take an active role in the healing and wellness process. The intensive integrated experiential approach to treatment allows me to take my clients through their daily activities, while incorporating effective strategies which improve performance and quality of life. The investment in the therapeutic process strengthens the clients ability to continue to progress between scheduled treatment sessions and beyond discharge. During the education and treatment process, clients and caregivers learn to advocate effectively supporting the client’s needs when referred to other professionals, resulting in the best outcomes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have chosen to pursue training that incorporates deeper aspects of human occupation; therefore, my approach to treatment is holistic and creative. Addressing postural strength, coordination and self regulation, I offer circus arts therapy. Teaching, choreography, and costume design as an aerial dancer is personally fulfilling for me. Drawing, painting and creative writing are effective in bringing balance and clarity in my life and in the lives of my clients. Since completing training as a Reiki Master and Healing Touch practitioner in 2002, I have incorporated bioenergy practices in my personal and professional life. As a victor over sexual assault, I carry an understanding of the physical and psychological challenges presented as I treat pelvic floor concerns of my clients who experience pelvic pain, and postpartum health issues. As a grandmother of 7, I am prepared to support client’s personal best as many females face changes associated with aging gracefully.
