I am an occupational therapist with more than 30 years experience evaluating and treating clients challenged by sensory processing disorders. I am not a psychologist, but an occupational therapist trained to use activities to accurately assess and treat these concerns for children and adults. Sensory modulation, balance, coordination, and self regulation are challenges experienced by highly sensitive people. I use age appropriate training to create personal treatment plans.
Tina holds a certificate of Circus Arts Therapy from the Circus Arts Institute. Modalities include Trapeze, Hammock and Lyra. She has trained and performed as a dancer-actor in ballet, modern, African Diaspora since the age of 4.
Biofeedback specific to pelvic floor rehabilitation is a specialty area when Tina has practiced. She began with training in pediatric Pelvic floor and incontinence rehabilitation, and recently completed a series of training in Women’s pelvic health and rehabilitation. Addressing menstruation, pelvic pain, pregnancy, postpartum and prolapse healing and wellness is her new expansion of practice. Supporting individuals and families is her mission.
I have completed extensive training in the bio physiology, and psychosocial concerns related to pelvic floor rehabilitation. More than a psychological approach, as an OTR, I have the qualifications necessary to perform pelvic floor evaluation and treatment addressing: menstruation pain and, sexual and insertion pain, incontinence, prolapse, pregnancy, back pain, Diastasis Recti, postpartum depression, infertility, child rearing and menopause.
As an occupational therapist I have evaluated and treated children and adults challenged by sensory processing disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Many adults find it difficult to establish a therapeutic program that effectively addresses their needs. Occupational therapy approaches the therapeutic process through functional activities that align with the client’s lifestyle, uplifting their overall performance of their roles and responsibilities in work, home and leisure. As an occupational therapist I understand the physical, psychological and emotional stress related to the work we do.
