About My Clients
Are you a gay, bi or queer man struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or a major life transition? If so, I can help. As a gay therapist, I understand our experiences are as diverse as everyone else's, and at the same time, there are parts of our lives that are unique to us and our community. During our work together, you will gain deeper insight into your problems, develop skills to change harmful patterns and build the life and authentic meaningful relationships you want.
My Background and Approach
My focus will be to ensure that we build an authentic, collaborative and trusting relationship so you feel truly understood, accepted and valued as a whole person, not simply for the issues you want to address in therapy. I have a relaxed, straightforward and interactive style, and rather than merely sit and listen like some therapists, I actively engage in meaningful conversations with my clients and provide the support and guidance they need. I have extensive experience working with gender and sexual minorities both in private practice and in my work at UCSF. During therapy, I will help you gain deeper insight into the challenges you face, develop skills to change harmful patterns, learn how to cope with negative feelings and feel more empowered to take meaningful steps to improve your life.
