Mindfulness-based CBT can help clients to better understand the interconnectedness of their thoughts, emotions and behavior. Clients learn how to use cognitive methods and mindfulness-based practices to disrupt the hardwired processes that often trigger self-limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns and ultimately replace these negative cycles with healthier beliefs and coping patterns.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a unique evidence-based therapy practice to treat trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other conditions such as anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR is a modality of therapy that uses bi-lateral stimulation (BLS) through eye movements, tapping and/or audible tones to reprocess emotions, thoughts and somatic feelings around one or multiple distressing events.

I practice therapy through the lens of attachment theory, which means it's essential that the therapeutic relationship we build is rooted in a sense of trust, safety and unconditional regard. Within this, I also help clients to better understand their own attachment adaptation and how this informs their internal sense of self, as well as their relationship patterns with others.

We'll work together to understand how psychological distress or emotional imbalances can often show up in our bodies. Part of this will be slowing things down to allow you to tune into inner emotions, and thus recognize how they show up somatically (in your body). While people tend to interpret certain body sensations/emotions as a negative sign, physical or emotional discomfort can be important signifiers of underlying issues that our systems are asking us to pay attention to.
