About My Clients
I specialize in working with people that struggle with anxiety & perfectionism, that have survived trauma, or that find themselves stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns. I also work with couples via an attachment-based lens & specialize in non-traditional relationships. My nature is down to earth and open; I like to dig into therapy with you & co-create a sense of curiosity about the experiences in your life that inform present patterns of thinking, feeling & behaving.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State. I obtained my Master in Social Work at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, focusing on clinical social work and being trained through an anti-oppressive framework. I’ve since received postgraduate training in Attachment Theory, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) & CBT. Currently I'm training in Adelphi University’s postgraduate program in couples therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each individual has the innate capacity for growth and that this is best achieved in a therapeutic relationship founded in trust and safety. I aim to help clients foster a sense of curiosity in the therapeutic process and encourage room to challenge, reflect and question within this space. I'm committed to practicing therapy from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist framework (and the ongoing learning required in this). I've had the privilege of working with clients from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities and am dedicated to inclusivity and creating an affirming space for those who identify as being in non-traditional relationships as well as those who identify as LGBTQIA+.
