About My Clients
I work with adults exploring / affirming / sharing / expanding gender identity and/or sexuality. I specialize in working with grief, religious trauma and deconstruction (esp. evangelical Christianity), anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
While there are all sorts of technical terms that I could use to describe my theoretical orientation - relational, psychodynamic, interpersonal - these words simply mean that I focus on who you are, where you've been, and who you are becoming in relation to yourself and others. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Communications, am trained as an LLPC Supervisor, and write referral letters for gender-affirming care. I abide by all WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) guidelines for treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, am committed to internal and external anti-racist work, and am a safe space for those who have been oppressed by religious institutions. You are invited to come as you are. I believe that quality therapy acknowledges the unique intersections of race and mental health. Racism and oppression are powerful realities - so therapists should feel comfortable addressing these topics.
