About My Clients

Do you never feel quite good enough? Do you look like you have it all together but secretly you're struggling to get by? Anxiety and overwhelm can make you feel alone and out of control, but with the right tools you can learn to move confidently through the world. I can help put you back in the driver's seat of your own life rather than letting anxiety and self-doubt run the show. With a holistic approach drawing on proven therapy techniques, I'm here to guide you along the way.

My Background and Approach

My background is in individual outpatient counseling, which I practiced in a variety of settings before starting my private practice. I got my master's in counseling psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (now William James College) and my bachelor's in religion, with a focus on philosophy of religion, from Dartmouth College. Over time I've honed my approach to emphasize not just helping people find relief from anxiety, but helping clients to nurture mental wellness and create lives that feel more satisfying. I work collaboratively - I may be an expert on anxiety and trauma, but you're the expert on your life, and together we can put together a plan that actually works for you. My job is to help you learn more about your own feelings, gradually increase your comfort level in managing and tolerating the difficult feelings that come up, and take steps to build a life that feels right to you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I've seen the power of therapy to help people get comfortable in their own skin and I'm passionate about bringing that power to my clients in the most down-to-earth way possible. I bring my sense of humor into our work together because life can be absurd sometimes and a good dose of humor can make all the difference. I've worked with clients who are all over the map in terms of ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious practice, and socioeconomic background, and I've made it part of my job to learn as best I can how to step outside my own background and understand how identity shapes our experience in the world. I have a sex positive approach and believe in the power of healing from trauma and of creating healthy relationships with others, with ourselves, and with our own bodies. I make art, meditate, and practice yoga and barre for my own mental wellness.
