About My Clients
One of the most important parts of the therapy process is the connection that is made between the client and the clinician. My accepting, client-centered approach makes it easy for you to discuss your immediate situation and deeper issues. I am passionate about working within the LGBTQIA community to assist clients in building the secure and satisfying life that they desire. You're the expert on you, let me provide the safe space for you to explore change and to find the future that you desire.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Mental Health Professional, and a Geriatric Mental Health Specialist in the State of Washington. I approach therapy from the theory known as Person Centered Therapy. I believe that the relationship we build during your therapy sessions is an important part of how our work together progresses. Further, it means that I treat all my clients with “Unconditional Positive Regard”; I do not approve of, disapprove of, or judge my clients or their actions, instead working from your current relational experiences. However, each relationship is individual and I will work with you utilizing the theory most appropriate for your situation. Our work together can address a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, and personality disorders ; how to navigate the challenges of daily life ; how to navigate developmental transitions ; adjusting to life changes; and the challenges faced by those of us within the LGBTQIA community.
