About My Clients

Adulting is a struggle. While it is a valuable time of self discovery, it is also a time of uncertainty and increased responsibility. There are expectations to find your footing in this world and find it fast. Under the weight of these societal pressures we think, is this as good as it gets? Are my wants, needs, and desires reasonable? Sifting through these alone is overwhelming. Our relationship offers a consistent, exploratory place for you to gain insight into yourself and these questions.

My Background and Approach

Ropes, and whips, and chains...oh my! No matter your sexual preferences, most of us grew up in a culture where our sexuality was shamed. New clients often call me to work through shame, relationship challenges, emotional stress, and self-esteem issues. As adults, we may feel embarrassed or "wrong" for even having sexual desires. Discovering who you are sexually comes with its own unique anxieties and challenges. Sex is complex; it can be an ecstatic source of joy and pleasure and it can also be a source of boredom, pain, and heartache. I also work with couples to help them navigate Ethical and Consensual, Non-Monogamy relationships. Beyond knowing how you like to express yourself sexually, there are also deeper questions we might ask, like what is the meaning and role of sex in your life? How does trust, safety, and security influence your sex life? Therapy is place you can explore these questions while developing more intimacy with yourself and your partner(s).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy has helped me learn how to trust myself despite expectations from family, friends, and culture. It was my sacred space; a place I could come as I was, unscripted and raw. Therapy not only provides a space to grieve and work through some of the emotional complexities that come with living, it is also a space where you gain insight into yourself and how you show up in relationships. It also helps us recognize the systemic concepts and ideologies we have internalized that may not be of value to us. Knowing who we are, what we want, and our areas of growth, empowers us to make the changes in our lives that are within our control.
