About My Clients
I work with clients from multicultural backgrounds, especially Black and Brown folks, people from the LGBTQ+ community, people struggling with life transitions (high school to college, college to the professional world, etc.), young adults, adults, and people with depression, anxiety, grief, and/or stress. I work with couples.
My Background and Approach
I am a graduate of DePaul University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am also training to become a drama therapist. My approach allows you to take the lead in how our sessions will flow while incorporating drama and other expressive arts into the sessions in order to unlock hidden meanings. I am here to help you understand and begin to heal from those everyday worries by helping you express yourself through different art modalities when sometimes words are unable to encapsulate those feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone knows the answers to their problems; they just might not know how to navigate them or even express them. Using a client-led approach combined with drama and storytelling, I believe you can begin to find the solutions to your everyday stressors. I want to create a collaborative space for you to heal and begin to find that inner peace. I wanted to become a therapist because I wanted to make a space for people who may struggle to just talk about themselves and their problems. I especially wanted to become a therapist for communities that have not been exposed to therapy. In my free time, I love to read, dance, and do yoga (I also like to incorporate some of the things you love into our sessions)!
