About My Clients
You’re an intelligent, professional, and accomplished woman. To others, you may seem like someone who has it together, but you’re struggling on the inside. Feeling overwhelmed and stuck prevents you from moving forward and living the life you’ve wanted. Painful memories, stress, grief, and life challenges are holding you back and preventing you from moving forward. You've been thinking about therapy for a while, and now you're ready.
How I Can Help You
Making the decision to begin therapy is a healthy step toward making positive changes in your life and finally doing something for yourself. I see therapy as a journey, and your journey toward healing and wellness will be as unique as you are. We’ll work together to create a plan for you to move forward. In my work with you, I'll draw from a variety of evidence-based practices, but most importantly, I'll tailor the treatment to meet your specific needs and goals. I'll create a warm, welcoming space for you, where you won't feel judged and where you can truly be yourself and share your struggles. We'll use a variety of different strategies and techniques to help you find relief from the difficulties you face. I’ll provide you with the skills and knowledge that will allow you to manage life challenges, not only now, but in the years to come. I believe that the work we will do together will lead to healing, growth, and positive life-long change.
Why I Became a Therapist
From the time I was a teenager, I knew that I wanted to work in a profession that would allow me to work with people as they strived to improve their lives. Over the years, I worked in various professions, including business and non-profit development, and in higher education as a career counselor and student advisor. In my spare time, I volunteered for organizations where I could contribute to bettering others' lives, including at a children’s hospital, in a cardiac intensive care unit, as an English as a Second Language tutor, and for animal rescue organizations. This was rewarding, but something was missing from my life. Finally, during my mid-thirties, I decided to pursue my true calling by returning to school to earn my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. I’ve worked in the profession for over 20 years. I truly love the work that I do, and as I have navigated challenging paths in my own life, I feel privileged to accompany people as they begin their healing journeys.
