About My Clients
Hi there and welcome! I primarily work with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether it be single incidents or developmental/relational trauma, and who are left struggling with their self-esteem, relationships, and general wellbeing. I also work with individuals across the lifespan facing issues including anxiety, depression, life-transitions, grief, military issues, and more. My only requirement is that you're human!
My Background and Approach
I strive provide a therapeutic environment that invites you inward to build awareness, understanding, and acceptance of your emotions and experiences. Through this process, you can grow confidence in your genuine self and be better equipped to make choices that lead to enhanced wellbeing, greater connection with those you love, and a more fulfilling existence. Each person is unique and so is each journey through therapy - I want to make sure our work fits you! I utilize a blend of neuroaffective relational, somatic, existential, and cognitive approaches to create a therapy that speaks to you and what you want for yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each human is so much more than their symptoms, behaviors, or diagnoses. I see symptoms or "maladaptive" behaviors as strategies that our brains and bodies have adopted to adjust to the environment around us and allow us to maintain some sense of safety. Often as we grow and mature, those same strategies that protected us now leave us disconnected, ashamed, and lost. I believe that it is only through depth-oriented, compassionate work that we can begin to appreciate how we have managed to persevere through hard times, accept ourselves for all that we are, and begin making new choices that move us closer to the life we want. No matter your race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, or religious beliefs, I would be honored to assist you in your journey towards finding your genuine self.
