About My Clients
The clients that find me usually have lost count of the number of times they've been harmed or invalidated, some times by other healers. Folks whose bodies, integrity, and intersecting identities have been dishonored in their communities and who have lost touch with the inherent power of their spirit. The folks that come to me are seeking a path towards trusting themselves to reconnect to their wholeness.
My Background and Approach
All the various titles and positions I've held over the last 10+ years always circle back around to supporting people who are attempting to cope with trauma. Folks who've lost access to safety in their bodies and in this world be it from a sexual assault, abusive families, structural oppression (racism, sexism, transphobia, etc...), or all the above. When I work with a client I make sure that we are always bringing their entire life in to context. How their inner and outer communities help and hinder their growth and safety. It's never enough to sit across from each other talking about how things hurt. We have to actually develop the tools to step in to the pain our bodies hold, use that energy to reshape our communities as well as ourselves, and rekindle the joyful and pleasurable possibilities that our bodies hold.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are always more than the worst thing that has ever happened to us. We always hold the capacity to heal. One of the most frustrating things about trauma of all kinds, is that it so often happens within our relationships, but it is through relationships that we also find healing.
