About My Clients
My ideal client encompasses a diverse range of individuals facing various mental health challenges. Throughout my career, I've found my calling in serving marginalized and underserved populations, including youth rescued from the sex trade, homeless families, LGBTQIA++ communities, and undocumented immigrants. Whether you're a child, adolescent, adult, or someone grappling with addiction challenges, my practice is open to providing you with the empathetic and individualized care you deserve.
My Background and Approach
My journey in psychiatry began with a strong foundation in academia at The University of Chicago, followed by diverse experiences in fields such as biophysics, boatbuilding, and law enforcement. After earning my medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, I pursued specialized training in General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Addiction Psychiatry. With more than half of my career dedicated to serving marginalized populations, I bring a wealth of experience from roles as an Inpatient Psychiatrist, Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist, and various Outpatient Psychiatry positions across multiple states.

At the core of my practice is a commitment to providing evidence-based, individualized care rooted in empathy and respect for each person's unique journey. I adhere to the highest standards outlined by professional associations and prioritize open communication and collaboration with my clients. My approach to therapy centers on viewing each individual holistically, acknowledging their lived experiences, and involving them in the decision-making process. My ultimate goal is not just symptom alleviation but supporting each person in achieving a state of holistic well-being.
