About My Clients
Are you tired of a life disconnected from your authentic self and deepest desires? Do you find yourself burdened by overpowering emotions? Do inexplicable physical discomforts trouble you? My clients often identify as perfectionists, grappling with anxiety, depression, or loneliness. Yet, they have a remarkable creative spark. Both overachievers and procrastinators share a trait: empathy. But, their deep feelings can lead to shame.
My Background and Approach
My Clinical Social Work background, plus my arts training, gives me a unique therapy style. I specialize in helping people manage chronic pain or illness, recover from narcissistic abuse, and overcome relational or religious trauma. I use compassion and humor to create a safe space. It allows for emotional exploration, growth, and self-discovery. My creative therapy offers a healing path that enhances personal understanding and growth. Therapy is a collaborative effort. I will guide and support you. This is vital for trauma survivors. It will ensure meaningful therapy in a safe, non-judgmental space. A key therapy goal is self-acceptance. I meet each client with authenticity, care, and an open mind, promoting self-compassion. Choosing the right therapist is essential. My creative, adaptable approach and trauma expertise attract clients. They seek an authentic, empathetic therapy experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Modeling authenticity is critical to successful therapy. As Sartre said, "Existence precedes essence." That seems natural to me as a therapist and active change agent. Existentialist themes have been a consistent part of my life and work since high school. The existentialist approach helps with tragedy, trauma, and a cruel world. Therapy is an active process, so being present is crucial. One must activate all one's senses. This process is challenging. It holds risks of disappointment and unexpected breakthroughs. I have ankylosing spondylitis (AS), an inflammatory arthritis. It causes stiffness and pain in the joints and connective tissues. My physical limits sparked a passion for psychotherapy. I wanted to help others with their challenges.
