About My Clients

We are often told that big life milestones are supposed to be exciting - like leaving a job to pursue a passion or moving to a new city to start a new chapter & anything in between. While these can be exciting adventures, sometimes we feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed & even lost. Plus, it can also feel confusing to be told that you’re supposed to be excited when that does not align with your lived experience. We can work together to help you find comfort in navigating all of these things.

My Background and Approach

My job is to create a space for you to engage in healing, learning, and growth - to help you sort through all of the feelings and thoughts that come with whatever it is you're facing and my style is eclectic, healing-centered, and humanistic. I draw from a variety of approaches, like Internal Family Systems (IFS) & parts work, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and different models of understanding grief & loss. I also like to tailor the tools I use to each person I work with.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Having been in therapy myself, I know what it's like to have a hard time navigating the world and how challenging it can be to find help. I feel very lucky to have been able to work with the therapists I have and I would like to think that I'm carrying on that legacy of care. However, when I think about it, I've been a therapist for much longer than I've been in practice. I've always found myself in caring roles - be that as a friend, an RA, an advisor to student groups, or even as a group ukulele lesson teacher. I have always worked to recognize the shared humanity in those who I've crossed paths with, and it's that guiding principle that has made being a therapist feel so natural. I recognize that you have inherent strengths and that systems of oppression make it challenging to thrive. As a therapist, I want you to feel witnessed, empowered, and cared for because at the end of the day that's such a necessary part of the human experience.
