My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in TX, MS, WI and a Telehealth provider in FL. I am also a certified eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a phase I and II Brainspotting trained therapist, and a certified anger resolution therapist. I have training to incorporate trauma informed yoga practices within the EMDR treatment modality. I utilize a trauma focused, person centered approach, in developing a strong therapeutic relationship to begin the work of healing the wounds of trauma. My social worker foundation includes a person-in-environment perspective, recognizing we function within social relationships and systems, sometimes hurt or denied access within these relationships and systems. I help clients deprogram themselves from the "rules" we have been taught by society and/or abusers, such as how we are "suppose" to act, be, look, feel, etc. This is is a partnership, together we can help you overcome past trauma, live in the present and thrive in your future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My core personal values and beliefs are in alignment with my professional social worker's core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. I am an approved Healing Tree provider. I work with community partners to help raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma and attitudinal barriers, and provide more access to mental health resources for underserved people.
