About My Clients
Have you been feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Angry, sad, exhausted? Not even sure how you are feeling? It takes courage to reach out and ask for help. I know. And I am here for you. My clients appreciate my listening skills, compassion, gentleness, and nurturing style. I do offer directive feedback on occasion, too. But the main thing is that I will be a guide and a witness to your growth and healing. I will be with you as you have all the feels. You do not have to face things by yourself.
My Background and Approach
The real gifts of therapy do not come from me. They come from the relationship, and in that sense, every client is unique, with their own background, family history, strengths, and challenges. So within the therapeutic relationship, I use specific tools and techniques like mindful breathing and reframing. I also rely on techniques like compassion, mirroring, active listening, curiosity, and what Carl Rogers called unconditional positive regard. In other words, I care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person has the ability to heal themselves. There can definitely be things that get in our way though. So I see myself as a collaborator, not an authority. I am here to help you understand and heal from what is in your way, so you can have a more authentic, fulfilling life. My approaches can rely on science, spirituality, or both, depending on your needs and goals. The point is the same though: helping you to help yourself feel better.
