About My Clients
If you're seeking in-person therapy to better understand yourself, others, and work through difficult experiences of feeling stuck, we may be a match as I have assisted many clients in improving their lives in these areas of personal growth and functioning. We can collaborate to understand what's most valuable to you and what is most effective for you in your journey forward. I assist clients in utilizing very effective tools to improve their mental, emotional, behavioral and relational health.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a combination of mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, and the experience of being "stuck" in maladaptive psychological, emotional, and behavioral patterns. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their struggles and support them in finding effective ways to mindfully reconnect and challenge themselves with increasingly healthier forms of self compassion, while moving forward towards their goals. Successful psychotherapy treatment is, on one hand undoubtedly unique to each client and their life experiences, and yet on the other hand, it often parallels the cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal patterns that other humans have experienced and then improved upon, to effectively reduce their suffering and create more joy and aliveness in their lives. I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I really enjoy being a therapist and experiencing the gift of witnessing people suffer less and grow in ways they aspire to. My clients and good psychotherapy do truly inspire me. Fortunately, I do also have a life outside of therapy! I enjoy many aspects of the outdoors with my family and friends, including mountain biking, river rafting, camping, basketball, pickle ball and playing music. I'm a big fan of meditation and have trained extensively in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
