About My Clients
I tend to work best with folks who believe in showing up authentically with themselves and others. From a therapeutic standpoint, this means learning to be comfortable with vulnerability so that you can explore past challenges or traumas in a way that is healing and insightful. I welcome the opportunity to guide you through this process in a way that is safe and trauma-informed!
My Background and Approach
I had the privilege to be trained by some of the preeminent leaders in the field of clinical social work, located in diverse and vibrant urban settings. This has shaped my clinical interests and experience. Having worked with clients from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, I am comfortable engaging with my clients in an authentic and non-judgmental manner. As a social worker, I value learning through my clinical work with clients. I approach my clients from a biopsychosocial perspective, meaning I consider the importance of the whole person in providing effective treatment. I draw on a variety of treatment approaches, including family systems, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, narrative, solution-focused, play therapy, and mindfulness. I've worked in treatment settings such as diagnostic and assessment centers, residential treatment, home-based therapy, outpatient clinics, and school settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a first-generation Italian American queer female. I live in North County San Diego with my spouse and young child. I enjoy going on long hikes in my town with my dog Marley, who may or may not show up in a virtual therapy session! From personal and professional experience, I believe everyone deserves and is capable of benefiting from therapy! Thank you for checking out my profile - considering therapy takes courage and bravery, and I encourage you to be persistent in finding a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and connected!
