About My Clients
I am open to working with clients from all ethnic cultures and backgrounds. I've worked with children, young adults, adults, and families. As an Afro-Latina, I understand the importance of wanting a multicultural competent therapist. Many of my clients see me for help in areas such as self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, depression, and life transitions. I help my clients develop coping skills, gain clarity on the past, and become empowered to embrace their future.
My Background and Approach
Together we will use a collaborative approach tailored to your wants and needs from therapy. I’ll find creative ways for us to reach your goals and contribute toward you reaching your full potential. I’m here to encourage your growth and highlight your ability to overcome obstacles. During our time together, I will try to be as authentic as possible. As we work together, I want to help you break through barriers that have been holding you back. I want you to see and understand how you fit into the world and recognize that you are worthy of taking up space and becoming who you are truly meant to be. With my authentic style, I welcome clients from a wide range of backgrounds. I want to be able to celebrate diversity in my practice and recognize the traits that make you a unique human being in the world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Authenticity and transparency are words I have followed from a young age. I knew I wanted to be a helpful person. Because of that, I found ways to become involved in my community. I found comfort in making other people feel welcomed and safe, despite the challenges they have encountered. This began by volunteering with New York Cares, then finding employment that continued to promote community engagement. The values instilled in me have helped foster my work in therapy. It is my duty to help promote one's ability to remain authentic to self, while also encouraging you to trust the process.
