About My Clients
I specialize in treating adolescents and adults with trauma and PTSD, self-harm and suicidality, disordered eating, family conflict, depression, and anxiety. My goal is to help every client feel welcomed into therapy and leave with practical tools and insights to carry forward in life. I use a relational and present-focused approach tailored to the client's specific needs, with the goal of both symptom reduction and a greater understanding of the self and relationships.
My Background and Approach
I am a practicing therapist and Director of Clinical Care at Joon Care. I graduated with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and received postgraduate training at the University of Washington and the University of San Francisco. Here I developed specialities in trauma and PTSD, in particular sexual and family-based trauma. I also specialize in working with folks struggling with disordered eating, mood dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidality. I am honored to work with individuals who have received personality disorder diagnoses, and younger adolescents with pervasive mood and relationship struggles based in trauma and family conflict. My work relies on evidence-based treatments rooted in cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapies including DBT, interpersonal therapy, and family systems. I believe I work well in building a safe and trusting space in therapy, especially for clients who have complex histories.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I approach all clients from a feminist multiculturally informed perspective necessary to build this safe space.
