I am a gender-affirming therapist with extensive training and experience working with trans, non-binary, and gender diverse clients, including (but not limited to!) support with exploring identity, managing gender dysphoria, and providing assessment and documentation for gender-affirming medical care.

As both a personal and a professional passion, I have focused my career on working with and advocating for LGBTQIA+ communities. I integrate my lived experience, training and clinical experience, and anti-oppressive lens to provide affirming care that seeks to understand and celebrate your identities.

My other primary area of passion is working with women and utilizing intersectional feminism as a framework for treatment. Women face unique societal challenges that impact their daily lives, relationships, and overall mental health, and it is important that therapy takes this into account.

Having originally trained in family therapy, I now utilize family systems therapy in an individual therapy context. How you grew up, your current or past relationships with family members, and intergenerational trauma all have a significant impact on your current functioning and mental health. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to support you to help yourself. We focus on identifying, understanding, and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, as well as learning strategies to cope with mental health symptoms. CBT emphasizes active problem-solving, and it is very effective for disorders such as depression and anxiety.

I seek to understand and empathize, not judge. I will be authentic and genuine with you, not closed off. I believe that you want to be the best you can be. You are ultimately the expert of yourself, your experiences, and your needs and goals. I am not here to tell you what to do, but rather to support you in tapping into your own expertise.

Internal Family Systems Therapy allows you to access your inner strength, self-compassion, and clarity. We do this by developing a deeper understanding of the different parts of yourself. Through this insight and compassion, you can heal the wounded parts of yourself that may be causing problems in your life. I am here as a non-judgmental and caring support as you go through this process of positive change.
