About My Clients
Therapy has been shown to help ameliorate the negative effects of trauma, to promote self-regulation, to allow clients to process emotions, to foster healthy coping skills, to reduce negative behaviors, to promote healthy development, and to improve relationships, among others. The relationship that you and I cultivate is crucial to your healing. I want to offer you a place of safety, acceptance, strength, and hope. Together we can pave a new path of healing and happiness.
My Background and Approach
I am certified/trained in a variety of mental health theories and techniques and use a prescriptive approach to determine which one will most benefit you at any given moment during our sessions. I generally start with person/child-centered and attachment-focused approaches, but I will also utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, mindfulness, and expressive therapies during our sessions.
